Frequently Asked Questions

  • Unfortunately, given we are a parent led board, we limit our phone to emergency use and the building is locked during school hours to ensure the safety of our teachers and students.  The fastest way to get a hold of us for any questions is to use “Contact Us” section on the website.

  • No; however, most of our students do enter the school district for Kindergarten.

  • Despite being connected to St. John’s Church, Cold Spring Harbor Nursery School is non-denominational.  With that said, our Holiday and Spring Concerts are held in beautiful St. John’s Church and our after school program (Busy Bees!) is run by the church.

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer tours of the school until your child has been accepted into the school.  With that said, we are working on a virtual tour for those interested!

  • The application process is relatively straightforward forward here at Cold Spring Harbor Nursery School.

Each fall, we ask existing families if they plan on moving on to Kindergarten, return the following year, or exit the school.  From there we send contracts to existing families who plan on returning and fill open spots and spots for our twos program from a running waitlist.

If your child has been accepted, you should receive an email from us in early February.

Our waitlist takes into consideration siblings of existing or previous students, parents/family members who attended, gender, age, and application date received.  As a result, we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible if you are interested!
